From the Honey Grove Signal-Citizen, February 21, 1930

Everything is in readiness for the opening of talking pictures in Honey Grove on Monday of next week, according to W. D. Mitchell, manager of the Strand Theatre. The building has been completely renovated and the acoustics improved to such an extent that it is believed the Strand will be one of the best sound theatres in this section, not excepting the larger cities.

The work of installing a new screen and sound absorption material on the walls and other parts of the building has been completed and the speakers all placed and ready for operation. New wall lights, which add to the attractiveness of the building, have also been installed. All equipment will be thoroughly tried out before any talking pictures are presented to the public, in order that when the doors are opened Monday the patrons may enjoy the pictures without interruption.
